The outer fabric is a medium weight 100% organic cotton canvas. The top boasts our hand-dyed lines pattern in natural indigo created using a Itajime Shibori technique, while the bottom is a solid indigo. The vegetable-tanned leather strap will last for years to come and will continue to soften and develop a beautiful patina as it ages.

Every bag is hand dyed in my Lakefield, ON studio using natural dyes. The use of the traditional Japanese shibori dye technique creates diverse patterns that make every tote bag unique.
Design Techniques Itajime
The fabric used in this bag has been hand dyed in our Lakefield area studio using the traditional shape resist shibori method of Itajime. In this process the cloth is folded and sandwiched between two pieces of wood, which are held in place with string. The shapes prevent the dye from penetrating the fabric they cover.Materials Veg-tanned Leather Straps
The vegetable tanning process produces some of the sturdiest, most durable leathers available. The long and slow traditional techniques used to process the hides for vegetable-tanned leather means that vegetable-tanned leather goods continue to soften and develop a beautiful patina as they age.Colour
